During this Holiday Season, my wife Mary and I want to thank
you –the men and women of U.S. Central Command, those in uniform and our
civilian shipmates, and you families- as we celebrate the many freedoms you
continue to earn us.
Your service and sacrifice this year has inspired us. Your
accomplishments in Iraq, in Afghanistan, in the Horn of Africa and throughout
our area of responsibility are historic. You are replacing oppression with
liberty, fear with hope, and despair with optimism. We are honored to serve
alongside you, and the nation is blessed to have you in its service.
May you and your families find a special peace and joy this
holiday season in the knowledge that what you are doing is vitally important
for our country and for the world.
Thanks for all you do every day, but especially at
this time of year.
