BAGRAM AIR FIELD, Afghanistan (June 16, 2008) - With a brisk salute and three words, "I assume command," Col. Jon K. Buonerba took command of the 401st Army Field Support Brigade from Col. Dennis M. Thompson in a change-of-command ceremony here, June 11.
“(Colonel Buonerba) knows this Brigade and knows the mission,” said Thompson during his departure speech. “He will take it to the next level.”
Buonerba, who received a master’s degree in criminology from California State University, Fresno, said he was prepared to lead the 401st, who has supply Soldiers deployed throughout Afghanistan.
“We will provide superior support to win the War on Terror,” said Buonerba. “The mission will be challenging and push us to the limits, but we will always push ourselves and do our best.”
In closing, Buonerba made a vow to his Soldiers, “You will never get less than 100 percent from me.”
