2nd Kandak, 3rd Brigade, 201st Corps Afghan National Army, and Marine Embedded Tactical Trainers (ETT), received awards at an unprecedented awards ceremony hosted by 2-503 Parachute Infantry Regiment (TF ROCK) at Camp Blessing, Nangalam, Konar Province. In total, 30 Army Acheivement Medals were presented to the ANA Battalion Commander, Command Sergeant Major, Staff, Company Commanders, First Sergeants, and “company Soldiers” selected by the leadership. The ANA were overwhelmed – at some point the ANA started proudly holding up the certificate in green binder and saying “I serve the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan!” LTC Adam Khan gave a inspiring speech followed by another great speech by LTC Byron the ETT senior mentor. Afterwards, LTC Adam Khan said he has served with the Coalition Forces for 5 years and has never been honored or treated with this sort of respect.
