Coalition precision strikes target Taliban in Khost

BAGRAM AIR FIELD, Afghanistan (June 21, 2008) – Coalition forces conducted precision air strikes today in Khost province targeting a Taliban commander involved with IEDs and foreign fighter operations, as well as weapons smuggling in the area.
Coalition forces identified a group of several militants moving through a mountainous area in the Spera District. Intelligence reports indicated that a senior Haqqani network commander was present in the militant group.
