Coalition precision strike destroys militant compound in Ghazni

BAGRAM AIR FIELD, Afghanistan (June 13, 2008) – Coalition forces conducted an operation Thursday in Ghazni province targeting anti-government command networks in the area.
Coalition forces searched a compound in Andar District targeting a militant leader known to have conducted attacks against Afghan government and Coalition forces.
During their search, Coalition forces did not encounter any militants or other occupants in the compound. They did discover indications that the entire compound was rigged with explosives, prompting their withdrawal. After Coalition forces moved to a safe distance, Coalition aircraft and supporting weapons systems conducted precision air strikes on the compound, destroying the building.
